Ingredients
Cocoa butter: 100% Dominican cocoa butter.
Lip balm: Cocoa butter, jojoba oil, beeswax.
100% cacao: 100% cacao. No added sugar.
How to use
Cocoa butter: Warm between hands and apply to skin.
Lip balm: Apply a small amount to your lips as needed.
Cacao: Grate or chop and melt into hot milk or water. Add sugar, cinnamon or a pinch of salt to taste.
Storage
Cocoa butter & lip balm: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sun. Soften in heat; firm up again at room temperature.
Cacao: Store sealed in a cool, dry place.
Recipes
Chocolate Caliente Dominicano · serves 2
2 cups milk (or water) · 2 squares (~30 g) of our 100% cacao, grated or chopped · 2 tbsp sugar, to taste · 1 cinnamon stick (or ¼ tsp ground) · pinch of salt.
Warm the milk with the cinnamon. When it starts to steam, add the grated cacao and whisk until fully dissolved. Add sugar and salt. Simmer and whisk for 3–5 minutes.
Chocolate con Especias · serves 2
Same base as above, plus ¼ tsp cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, a thin slice of fresh ginger, and a tiny splash of vanilla. Warm, whisk, strain if you like it smooth.
Simple Cacao Brownies · makes ~9
½ cup (115 g) butter + 100 g (3.5 oz) grated 100% cacao, melted together · ¾ cup sugar · 2 eggs · 1 tsp vanilla · ½ cup flour · ¼ tsp salt.
Whisk sugar, eggs and vanilla into the warm chocolate-butter. Stir in flour and salt. Bake at 350°F for 25–28 min.
